Zaren Henderson

Zaren Henderson is the founder and Managing Director of Custom Solar Power, a South-East Queensland solar and battery specialist he established in 2017. A Gold Master Electrician with almost two decades of hands-on experience in the electrical and renewable energy industry, Zaren has built the company around a simple conviction: that solar should be engineered around how people actually live, not sold as a one-size-fits-all package.

Having worked in the field for almost 20 years, Zaren has personally installed thousands of systems over his career, and since founding Custom Solar Power has personally installed, designed or supervised thousands more across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Northern NSW. That practical, on-the-tools background shapes how he writes. Every article on the Custom Solar Power Insights blog is grounded in real installation experience and a deep understanding of how energy systems perform in Queensland homes and conditions, not in theory.

Zaren is a firm believer in giving homeowners straight, honest information, including when a product or upgrade isn't right for them. His writing aims to cut through the sales noise around solar, batteries and smart energy, and help people make genuinely informed decisions about their homes.
