Solar panel, battery and EV charger installers across Ipswich, from the heritage suburbs to Springfield and Ripley. In-house team. Call 07 3076 4590.
Ipswich covers more ground than people expect: heritage timber in the old town, a fast-growing corridor through Springfield and Ripley, and acreage out west past Rosewood. Each needs a different approach, and two of them come with constraints most installers don't think about until they're on site.
Custom Solar Power has been designing and installing across Ipswich since 2017. Every job is completed by our own team and overseen by Gold Master Electricians.
The heritage suburbs (Ipswich Central, Woodend, Sadliers Crossing, Eastern Heights, Newtown, Brassall and North Ipswich) hold some of the best-preserved timber housing in South-East Queensland, and a good deal of it sits in character areas. Steep tin roofs, high-set construction, and wiring that is often decades older than the appliances running off it. Switchboard condition almost always needs assessing before a battery goes in, and in character areas what is visible from the street is a legitimate consideration rather than an afterthought.
The post-war middle (Booval, Bundamba, Silkstone, Raceview, Goodna, Leichhardt) is lowset brick and chamferboard with modest roof areas. Efficient panel layout matters more than system size.
The Springfield and Ripley corridor (Springfield Lakes, Brookwater, Augustine Heights, Ripley, Deebing Heights, Redbank Plains, Bellbird Park) is among the fastest-growing residential areas in the country. Modern switchboards, clean installs, and the easiest jobs in the LGA. The limitation is roof geometry rather than roof condition.
The rural west (Walloon, Rosewood, Marburg, Willowbank, Purga, Karrabin) is acreage with sheds and often three-phase supply, sitting at the end of long network feeders. Storm outages are more common and last longer out here, which is where a battery with genuine backup capability stops being a luxury.
Flood-prone properties. Parts of Ipswich have a serious flood history along the Bremer, and inverters, batteries and switchboards are all things you do not want at knee height in a flood-prone property. Where a property has flood exposure we mount equipment as high as practical and design around it. If your property has flooded before, tell us at the quote stage. It changes where things go, and it is far cheaper to design around than to replace.
Every Ipswich system connects to Energex, and export limits and approval conditions vary by area and system size. The rural west sits on longer feeders where voltage rise and export constraints are tighter than in the newer estates. We handle the application and the paperwork as part of the job.
