Brisbane Northside Solar and Battery Solutions

Solar panel, battery and EV charger installers across Brisbane's northside, Clayfield to The Gap and the bayside. In-house team. Call 07 3076 4590.

The northside runs from character Queenslanders in Wilston and Clayfield, through the post-war belt around Chermside and Aspley, out to the hills at The Gap and down to the bay at Sandgate. Four quite different install problems, and the bayside one in particular gets overlooked.

Custom Solar Power has been designing and installing across Brisbane since 2017. Every job is completed by our own team and overseen by Gold Master Electricians.

The inner north (Wilston, Grange, Windsor, Wooloowin, Clayfield, Ascot, Hamilton, Newmarket, Alderley, Herston) is character Queenslander country, and a good deal of it sits under Brisbane City Council's traditional building character provisions. Steep tin roofs, high-set construction, mature trees, and street visibility that is a genuine planning consideration rather than just a matter of taste.

The post-war belt (Chermside, Aspley, Kedron, Wavell Heights, Stafford, Everton Park, Gordon Park, Geebung, Zillmere) is the northside's bread and butter. Lowset brick and chamferboard, decent roof area, mostly straightforward installs. Switchboard age varies enormously street to street.

The western hills (The Gap, Ashgrove, Mitchelton, Keperra, Ferny Grove, Enoggera) are steeper, greener and harder. The Gap in particular backs onto Brisbane Forest Park, and shading from mature gums is significant enough to change system design rather than just system size. These suburbs also lose power more often in storms, so backup capability is worth more here than the brochure maths suggests.

The newer north (Bridgeman Downs, McDowall, Carseldine, Fitzgibbon, Taigum) is modern estate housing with new boards and clean roofs. The easiest installs on the northside.

The bayside and salt air. Sandgate, Shorncliffe, Brighton, Deagon and Nudgee Beach sit in a marine environment, and salt air is corrosive to mounting hardware, fixings and enclosures. Rail and fixings that are perfectly adequate in Chermside will not last the same length of time three streets back from the water. Where a property is close enough to the bay for it to matter, the mounting system and enclosure ratings need to reflect that.

Every northside system connects to Energex, and export limits and approval conditions vary by area and system size. We handle the application and the paperwork as part of the job.
